I wanted to provide you with an update regarding cycle theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.
IT TAKES SECONDS FOR A THIEF TO STEAL A SCOOTER, MOTORCYCLE OR MOPED ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE LEFT UNSECURED. REDUCE THE RISK LOCK,CHAIN AND COVER YOUR BIKE AND HIDE IT AWAY FROM THIEVES. 1. LOCK BACK WHEEL WITH CHAIN TO SOLID STREET FURNITURE IF POSSIBLE. IF NOT , THREAD THE CHAIN THROUGH THE FRAME AND BACK WHEEL TO PROTECT PARTS BEING STOLEN 2. USE DISC LOCKS TO SECURE THE FRONT BRAKE DISC AND/OR a D LOCK TO STOP IT FROM BEING WHEELED AWAY 3. USE A GRIP LOCK TO SECURE THE BRAKE AND THROTTLE CONTROLS. ENGAGE YOUR STEERING LOCK 4. USE COVER MAKES BIKE LESS VISIABLE AND LESS ATTRACTIVE AS THIEVES LOOK FOR SPECIFIC MODELS.
